The farm is a model Ecological Agricultural Center. This phrase, Ecological Agricultural is meant to be inclusive of Sustainable, Regenerative, and Permaculture activities and technologies.

Coming to the farm is a close to the Earth experience, in a treehouse with it raining in sideways, or a tent in the wind, or the din of the frogs, it is a wonderful sense of being in the midst of life. The chickens, the peacock family, the lovely little dog, Belle,  crazy brown-dog, Hoku, as well as the native birds, and yes, the frogs in the Kalo  (Taro ), all create a world of form and sound that is delightful.

Dedication and appreciation have created so much here. Don’s knowledge is phenomenal. His never-ending making things better with energy and grit shows you how all this got here!

The living spaces for interns or work trade are very simple. There are two treehouses each with unique delightful qualities. There are three tents each of which is within a larger structure, these being two canvas carports and one canvas quonset hut. See images below.

The road is rough, the dog might bark but there is so much life and opportunity to do something truly meaningful! Ecological relationship with the Earth as a real and creative way of life is the only answer to the belief in scarcity which creates greed, which creates the exploitation of and destruction of resources.  Respect and active gratitude have brought wise men and women to “the garden” over the ages. The choice for a competent life on the land is a wonderful choice. Experience brings ever greater competence.

The Big Treehouse is a bit more private. It does not have Wi-Fi (always available at community kitchen) or electricity. It is near the sacred area around the waterfall and the energy is great!

The little Treehouse is built in a great monkey pod tree and has a lovely tree going up through the room. Walls are open and vews of the farm are spectacular! Queen size bed included. Good wi-fi signal and phone signal here. No electricity.

Tent living is close to the earth. All tents are protected. The canvas “carports” shelter the tent and give more room for furniture and personal items and just feeling at home. Zippers and closures give protection from mosquitos, etc. Queen beds and great views.

Tent 1 – Close to the gardens and lots of wonderful trees. Also fairly close to the main house, shower, and community kitchen.

Tent 2 –  With lots of room to do things in within the carport, this tent has a great location. The last picture shows tent 1 to the right and tent 2 up on the private flat area.  –

Tent 3 – This tent is within our storage Quonset hut. It is farthest from the house and like the Big Treehouse on the other end of the land, seems private. Out front, there is a lovely view. Since the quonset house is protective but open-ended, there is a greater sense of living outside.
